HUNMANBY DRAMA CLUB Present a Farce entitled Heatstroke by Eric Chappell writer of the hit TV comedy Rising Damp. An action packed play encompassing mistaken identity,stolen cash, a madman, a stroppy snake and a nude sunbather all adds up to a laughter packed romp of a farce and the promise of an enjoyable night out.

Presented in the community centre for three nights only,Thursday,Friday & Saturday 10th,11th & 12th July at 7.30pm tickets are now available from Hunmanby Pantry and Hunmanby Chemists.

 

 

HUNMANBY ALL SAINTS CHURCH SUMMER FAIR Will take place on Saturday 12th July 2pm. A very enjoyable afternoon. With Stalls such as plants,home-mde cakes,Jam's& pickles,bric a brac and many more.Village Brass will play prior to the opening of the fair & afterwards plus Village Voices will sing in the church.

The fair will be opened at 2pm by Cllr Mrs Irene Vickers the Mayor of Scarborough at 2pm

 HUNMANBY RYEPOD BUS The new Rypod bus will be visiting Hunmanby every Friday for the next 4 weeks as the trial gets underway it will be at the Community Centre-The side by the SkatePark & youth shelter from 6.30pm-8.30pm each Friday night.For Hunmanby Teenagers between 13-16yrs are aimed at . Two Youth Workers will be in attendance from Filey 4 Youth .Many enjoyed the activities on two Friday nights and it is hoped it will be a continued success.

HUNMANBY PARISH COUNCIL Met on Wednesday 25th July. In the Public Qyestion Time Mr Neville Cope informed the Council of work he had carried out at the allotments, he also queried the parking charges in Scarborough with Borough Councillor Chambers who advised that these were set by a committee who met annually with Hoteliers & Businesses through discusses with these groups and amount was reached as to what budget was required.Parking charges are essential if there is to be know cut in services.

After reports from County Councillor Blackburn & Borough Councillor Chambers there was a report byPCSO Clapcott who reported the latsest crime figures for the Hunmanby area these take in to account Primrose Valley & Reighton Holiday Camps.Operation Anvil beween 1st April & 23rd June this year proved to be a success,there had been 59 warnings given to some drivers on Sands Lane,5 cases of autocrime,4 Burglary of Houses 12 Criminal Damage 18 Theft 8 Violence along with 3 domestic incidents 3 incidents of nusance neighbours, 3 accidents in Bridlington St and 8 reports of Antisocial behaviour in Bridlington St & around the Co-opertative shop.

The Allotments in Hunmanby are being extended to 20 in number as there is a waiting list for these the extra 10 have already been taken.

In the Planning meeting the plans for the new Doctors Surgery were discussed and in the main received a positive response there has been 1 objection from numer 46 Sands Lane & 1 Councillor.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH Is getting a good response in the area although coordinators are required in the following areas:- Highcroft,Bridlington St 2 for both north & south,Sands Lane,Park Rise Lawsons Close,Stonegate,Founteyne Rd Hammerton Rd,Havercroft Rd,Cecil Rd,Harborough Close,Grimstton Rd Constable Rd,Percy Rd,Bardney Rd.

HUNMANBY IN BLOOM Are held there Unknwn Gardens last weekend,it was very well attended and raised over £1,000 for the group. The weather was very good & encouraged people to attend. The results of the best kept gardens will be known shortly


CROSSHILL METHODIST CHURCH SERVICES Are held each Sunday at 10.30am except the 4th Sunday of each month when there is a joint service with All Saints which alternates between the two churches.

JILLY'S CAFE Is now open in Hungate Lane.serving Breakfasts,Lunches,salads & sandwiches etc. opening hours are from 7.45 until 4pm each day except sunday when the opening hours are 8am-12noon.

THE LITTLE COFFEE SHOP On Bridlington Street is Now open each day except Wednesday from 10am until approx 5pm.


YORKSHIRE COAST HOMES Will be holding a Money Management Service at Hungate Court from 10.00am-11.30am every 1st Wednesday of the month from May to give help with getting benefits dealing with bills making applications and filling in forms etc for all their tenants.

FAMILY FRIENDLY CAFE CHURCH next meeting is on July 27th 10.45 AM TO 12NOON SUITABLE for families with children aged up to 10 years. This is a very informal service callled `Chilled `n`Filled' and is held in the Spring Cafe Stonegate Hunmanby. There are activities for the children and plenty of time and support to strenghthen family relationships and explore some of the pressures of modern life and christian faith in the 21st centuary.

W.R.V.S IN HUNMANBY Operates a books delivery service for residents who are unable to visit the library in person. It is a fortnightly service on Wednesday afternoons, bringing books specially chosen for each recipient from the Hunmanby library. it is a free service and greatly appreciated .

HUNMANBY POP IN CLUB Is held every Friday from 10am - 12 noon at the Community Centre Stonegate. The club is open to all young and old and everyone is made very welcome.

Among the activities are light exercises, Raffle, coffee and biscuits a meal is available if it is booked in advance. There are 30 regular attenders who enjoy the activities and friendship regular trips are organised. There is no membership fee so come along and enjoy a very social morning.
